About
Carlota Barrera proposes a contemporary vision of craftsmanship and identity, reinterpreting Spanish heritage through a queer female gaze and a continuous questioning of menswear. Her work explores what the language of menswear can become when its foundations are examined, deconstructed, and rebuilt with new perspectives on gender, intimacy, and form.
Founded in London in 2018, the label offers refined reinterpretations of classic garments that merge tradition and modernity. Through an interplay of structure and fluidity, sobriety and sensuality, each collection reflects an evolving dialogue around identity and the future of menswear.
The brand has been recognised with the Vogue Fashion Fund Spain (2019), the Madrid Capital de Moda Award (2022), and the Young Talent Award from the Academia de la Moda Española (2024). Collections have been presented in Paris and London and are stocked internationally. Collaborations with artisans, artists, and global companies—including Nike, New Balance, and Leica—have shaped the label’s multidisciplinary practice.
Stockists include SSENSE, Printemps Paris, Antonioli, Joyce Hong Kong and Adekuver Korea.
After studying at Central Saint Martins and Istituto Europeo di Design, and completing an MA in Menswear and Tailoring at London College of Fashion, Carlota Barrera worked at several fashion houses before developing her master’s collection, The Matador and The Fisherman. Created in collaboration with Spanish artisans, the project established the brand’s ethos: the preservation and evolution of craftsmanship, and a commitment to expanding and reimagining the possibilities of contemporary menswear.
